About

Hi, I'm Jenn.

Licensed counselor, certified ADHD specialist, and certified Women's Health and Menopause Coach, based in Greensboro, NC.

Jennifer Becker, MS, LCMHCS

I've worked with women for more than 15 years. Over and over, I've watched capable women come in saying the same thing: "I just don't feel like myself." The lists stopped working. The focus slipped. The patience ran out faster than it used to. And the tests came back normal.

Why I do this work

ADHD doesn't start in midlife, but it can show up there. Many women spent years managing it without a name for it. Then perimenopause shifts the hormones that helped hold everything together, and the workarounds stop working. From the outside, and even from the inside, it's hard to tell which is which.

Your doctor wasn't dismissing you. The research on perimenopause and mental health is still an incomplete map. That's not a reason to wait. It's a reason to get a clearer picture.

How I work

My approach is direct but compassionate. I'll tell you what I see, and I'll be in your corner while you decide what to do with it. Midlife isn't something to fear or fight. It's a chance to redefine what works for you.

I start by sorting out what's going on. In the Profile Session, I use two tools I developed for this exact question: the Midlife Executive Function Profile™ and the ADHD–Perimenopause Differential Pathway™. Then, if you want support, we build systems around the four R's: Relationships, Rest, Resources, and Routines.

All coaching happens on Zoom or by phone, so you can work with me from wherever you are.

Coaching with me is coaching and education. It isn't therapy or medical care, and it doesn't replace your doctor. I can't prescribe medication, and I'll help you bring a clearer picture to the people who can.

Credentials

Outside of work

I love endurance challenges, like long hikes. I lift weights and spend as much time as I can with friends and family. I'm usually reading a novel, and there's often a record spinning on my record player.
